I am having trouble to get people to follow my blog the main reason is because the items that I offer (Textbook answers) redirect them to the site or pdf with the answer so there only on my site for 30 seconds to 60 seconds, anybody have any tips.

    Here is the site: hxxp://homeworkanswerlink . blogspot . com/

I'm assuming by "followers" you mean either 1) subscribing via RSS or 2) via Blogger's native Follow-system.

For problem #2- Blogger's native following system, don't feel bad. It's one of many social efforts Google has completely messed up. Lots of popular Blogger blogs don't have Blogger followers. It's just not an indicator of any actual readership at all.

As for problem #1, lack of RSS subscribers... you have WAY too much bling on your site. If it's making you bank, by all means leave it on. But if you're building up your audience still, you're giving them a million reasons to hit the back button.

An example of what i mean- you have a giant mixcloud DJ mix that seemingly has no relationship at all to your niche, that takes up a giant block literally 20 times bigger than a buried, bottom-of-the-page RSS button. It's an anti call-to-action.

Regardless of how much bling you leave on your site, move that RSS button front and center, get a bigger graphic for it (free ones at vecteezy dot com), and make a big call to action.

But I definitely think you should probably take some bling off in addition to that.

Let me know if I've misunderstood what you meant by followers.

Promote your blog over social media networks to gain more visibility. :) Currently, it's one of the main factor in attracting visitors.

Yes, social media plays a massive part in getting traffic. Don't forget forum marketing either ;)

For promote and to give exposure to your site, social media is at its best. Have a facebook like, twitter follow and an RSS feed button on the side of your blog. Have a fanpage on facebook and have a status update frequently on facebook. This would help people to know about your site and follow it.

Include a line like this (or some variant of it) before the link that takes the visitor away from your site.

"Did you like our site? Use the RSS subscribe icon to be notified of the latest tips/notifications/xxx as and when we publish them."

That should help a little bit. Not a very technical pointer but should help a little bit at least.

Switch to wordpress or tumblr, you get more freedom and customisation than blogger.
