First I will say it has nothing to do with a competitor and I am not trying to bump anyone like that, however, it is a thread on a forum in which someone states my full name, says several libelous things about me and my company in which NONE they can prove or are even true.

I know this person is an ex-employee who is mad because I had him "removed", but this URL is now the TOP damn search result when typing in my name! I have contacted the forum owners and they say, "just write a rebuttal" which does no good because then people see me arguing with this idiot who is making things up as a top result, which again looks unprofessional.

I can't really file a DMCA complaint and have it removed and the forum owner said the only way to remove it is to get a court order.

It's nothing insanely bad, just stupid lies, but I really hate that it is the top result when searching my personal name.

What do you guys recommend for having issues like this? Please PM me or respond here.

Why don't you just sue the guy or the forum for libel?? I'm sure they would take it down as soon as they were notified about it.

Sue them and if you don't want a mess, just post good things about yourself and your company on 20-30 forums and outrank that page with them! So it wont even appear in top 20.

Call me for help. I'm not cheap, my methods are crude, but I won't leave any evidence behind.

There is a post somewhere where I described the same problem, although my case seems to have been much worse.

Long story short there wasn´t much we could do if we choosing the legal route, so we decided to outrank him instead. As of today we have taken position ~1-100+ for all relevant keywords related to my family members, AND the same for HIM and HIS. We don´t bash anyone on the sites, fact is they don´t have anything to do with his family at all. However, seeing the serps I am quite sure he won´t redo what he did anytime soon... (or...)

    Problem solved.

A fancy letter of demand threatening legal action often does the trick. Either post it or fax it to the site owners.

YEP, was going to put that. Dude, just write the site owner, explain things, in a nice legal way.
