I have a 1999 mercedes slk 230,and I need to get a lamp socket for the backup light. But I can't it anywhere I search, only sockets for turning signal and headlamp.

Take out the bulb and check the wattage. Try searching for a socket for that wattage. It will probably be 50x cheaper than a "mercedes" socket. Just make sure it is a simple two wire connection.

It doesn't use wires its has two metal things on the front of it,so when u insert it,it finishes the connection.

Call Autozone. Those guys know cars like someone on a blackhat forum knows SEO.

You explain it, they'll tell you exactly how much it is. Once you have the model number, head over to Amazon and buy it for 20% cheaper than Autozone sells it.

Try Amazon.com under their autos section.

Looks like there was a recall on that part by Mercedes! This is the official site for all recalls and service bulletins. (I know because i had to check on the intake manifold for my car :()

    http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

So you can probably get it replaced at the dealer for no charge! Missed mine by 6 years
