Any ideas on how I would go out and find email list or people who are looking for copywriting? I do business names, slogans, taglines ads etc.

Where can I find these people? Blogs, forums, etc? Any help would be appreciated!

If you are on linkedin join relevant groups for content writing, copy writing, content writing jobs etc. Participate in discussions, add value - people will start noticing you and your reputation will also go up. Then bid for jobs posted there.

I needed one copywriter before this week and then I went with Fiverr where I found one very good and reputed seller. You should also release one gig there.
Good Luck!!

I'm also new in the forum but consider myself a freelance writer, mainly right now working with college students writing their research papers. I'm have been getting A' for almost 7 years for other people. I also managed the listing department of a successful ecommerce store for about a year. I am looking for any work to establish myself in the online freelancer's arena. Always available for work, thanks!

Why don't you take a look on "want to hire" section. I hope you will find a lot of post related to copy writing. Also you can try on freelancing sites like Odesk, Elance and Freelancer.

When I started I went in person to local businesses and introduced myself. I asked them questions, such as getting new customers was their number one problem. Most said yes, and then I proceeded to offer my help for free so they could see the results I could produce. Once I got them results, they were happy to hire me. It worked because I eliminated the risks for them, and built my credibility with them by showing them real results.

I would be leary to use another person's email list of people that are looking for work done. Just sending an email cold call style might not have good results. Though it's possible, you could send a letter of introduction telling how you found them, such as 'our mutual friend Joe said you might need help with your blog posts', etc.

Most webmaster forums have this type of 'Want to hire' or 'Hire me' section for work classifieds and you can find some really good people there.

Post on different job sites where you create a service for copywriting. then you can get your foot in the door with some people and they may also be able to recommend you to others.

Try websites like PeoplePerHour and Guru. There is a bunch of work for (good) copywriters there, especially on PeoplePerHour. You have a good shot there because most copywriters charge $25 an hour minimum. Look presentable, write coherently and charge $10-$15 in the beginning and you're good to go.

Looking on freelance websites in the hire section could be your best bet as I know there are a lot of people looking for someone to do this kind of job so you are sure to find someone who will want to take you up on your services.

These websites doesn't seem like they've got a good traffic flow. Even the top gigs on their writing section got just like 1 sale or less!

Twitter is always full of people who are looking for a copywriter.

PeoplePerHour?? Guru?? Were you looking at the right sites? At the right sections? And numbers?

I tried PeoplePerHour, but it's kinda hard to find a job there. Just my honest opinion.

Places like Fiverr, Freelancer, oDesk are all places you could check out to look for people who can do this kind of work for you.

There is never a best copy, there is always something better. So if you are finding it difficult to target people who need copywriting, just tell them that their current copies suck and they need a better one. Then sell them everything you got to secure the deal. People sometimes need to be told what they want and not asked about what they want.
