Asking why a member got banned may get you in trouble.

It might, but you can take your chances by PM'ing a moderator.

Probably so not every start asking here why someone got banned. If you really need to know you can always PM mod /admin and if you have a good reason they will most likely tell you the reason

Because bans are decisions made by the moderators, and it isn't a topic open for debate. When people start questioning why someone got banned, it typically ends up as a debate, so it's just easier to have a rule not allowing the discussions at all.

If there's a clear reason that you need to know why someone got banned, then it's definitely acceptable to ask about it. Just PM a mod and explain why you need to know and if you're reason is valid then you can usually get a response.

Valid "need to know" reasons are things like, "I was about to start a JV with this guy and I need to know if the reason for the ban is something that I should be concerned about." or "I just purchased something from this guy and my only contact with him is through bhw PM. Am I just screwed now or what?"

In some cases if you have a valid reason, and don't get a response from a mod, then you won't get in too much trouble by posting a thread asking about it. It's better to try PMing a mod first though. Don't start a debate about whether they should have been banned, just keep to the topic of why you need to know.

i was always thinking that the judges decision is final, and no questions asked.
