    Hi,

I wondered if anyone could tell me of a quick way to delete thousands of comments from a wordpress blog? Is there a way I can go in via cpanel and do this?

    Thanks

If you have the askimat tool it should, place them into a spam folder for you, then you just click delete all spam.

Thanks! That was really easy. I just went to phpmyadmin and pressed the trashcan icon next to the wp_comments and they were all deleted instantly.

The problem with doing it through Akismet was that I could only mark each page as spam, 20 comments at a time, unless I was missing something? There were 16,500 comments.

    Thanks for your help.

You can also install mass post manager. It's a free plugin available on Wp.org. You can delete all comments and posts in a category w/o having to manually mess around with your databases.
