Ive been scraping a website for images but I noticed that they download with a watermark at the bottom.

Its the same for every image so Id just like to remove a section from the bottom of each image to remove the watermark.

Dealing with a cpl thousand images so how do I do that en masse?

If you've got Photoshop .. you can quickly create an action to do this.

So you are taking images that have a watermark , which means they are copyrighted and you are going to risk removing the watermark to reuse them, this could be dodgy - But if you want to continue as another blackhatter said you can use photoshop or even gimp

well, i can watermark any picture, it won't make the picture mine :), so let's just assume, OP wants to remove a blackhat watermark
photoshop can do this for sure, pretty much you wouldn't even need a girlfriend anymore if you would use all over its features, but it's not the easiest thing to learn, that's why i linked those two free tools above, those are really easy to use

    Just as FYI:
When you intentionally remove the watermark of a copyrighted photograph, it's called 'Willful Copyright Infringement'. This is a very special instance of copyright infringement because you don't get to cry and pretend you didn't know it was wrong hoping someone will take pity on you if promise not to do it again.

In instances of 'Willful Copyright Infringement' [aka you removed the photographer's watermark] a court will award damages to the photographer of $150,000 PER IMAGE - PER INSTANCE of infringement PLUS attorney fees.

The 'plus' attorney fees is the really cool part because a lot of attorneys will take the case on a contingency basis.

Maybe if you ask the photographer - they'll GIVE you the unwatermarked copies at a discount - of maybe $100,000 each [no lawyers needed]. Would save you a lot of money and work.
