How do I automate downloading of images with post titles and having the images named so?

    Hello Everyone :)

I want to download images from a few websites (some WordPress based, some running on different scripts). What I want to do however is to download the images, get the post titles/names, and save the images using those titles/names (Post 1 Title.jpg, for example).

Now I can manually do this, going from one page to another and copying the post titles/names, right clicking on the images, pasting those post titles/names as file names.

But, is there a way to automate it? Can iMacros (for Chrome) do it without me needing to write a code ('coz I don't know to :p )? Or is there a better way to do this?

HTTrack is a free GPL software for downloading whole sites. It's very flexible, you can configure exactly what to download. It's not very easy to use, but you can use it for many things, so it's worth learning. After you get the pictures you can bulk rename if necessary, there are many tools for that.

Bulk renaming isn't what I'm after. What I need is different... an image from say a WordPress photoblog/phlog and the blog post title/name that goes along with it.

I'll check out HTTrack though. Thanks :)

    Btw, any other suggestions anyone?

If you just need one image from a page, it's a simple script, you can have it made on fiverr or similar.

Post a job at oDesk/Elance for the script, I think it should not cost more than $10 because it will be a very simple script. Then use the script again and again for several sites.

if you use an off the shelf tool you will probably end up manually doing stuff which will take time in the long run. better off writing a good spec for what you want and get someone to do it for you. it's a pretty simple task and shouldn't cost you too much (certainly less expensive than trying to wrestle with some 3rd party solution)
