    Hi guys -

I am a bit of a SEO newbie, and I am looking for a topic for a research report for a marketing class I am currently taking. It kind of hit me when I was searching for a movie and I searched for "watch mission impossible" on Google. All the results are for free/pirate websites! I figure the movie theaters and movie studios probably know this, but I didn't see any of their pages until mid-way down the second page.

I know link building is huge, links pointing to different file storage/streaming places. What other tactics make these sites so successful on google page ranking? From what I understand Google tries its best to weed out black hat tactics, so I am curious how these sites still stay so high up on the ranks especially when they go up, down and change domains all the time.

Would this be a good research topic? If I decide to pursue it and end up writing it, I'd be happy to share it with the community.

Any insight or resources would be appreciated!

Time on site, bounce rate... all google ranking factors.
