How do all those online-based SERP tracking service works?

    I am wondering how those online-based SERP tracking service works (ie: Serpfox).
    Obviously, I am not trying to dig deep into their operation, but just in general.

    I was thinking that perhaps they have a dedicated server with a lots and lots of proxies that keep crawling daily?

    Yup, that's exactly what they do. Tons of IPs which use the keyword and domain name and search to figure out the ranking.

    Thanks for confirming. Wow.. in that case, I really cant imagine how many proxies they put on the server then..

    It's not easy to do and especially when keeping nonpersonalized results.
