Was doing some research for themes for mini niche sites when I came across this,

Search Term "best free wordpress themes 2014"

This site comes up wpulti dot com/best-free-wordpress-themes/

Looked up the URL in backlink watch and it says it only has 22 backlinks. Is it really that easy to rank for that search term? I assume so since Traffic Travis says it only gets 1,000 exact searches.

I'm not in the blogging niche, so if it is that easy someone could get some quick traffic!

According to SEMRush, its not a competitive keyword. So I'm not surprised they are ranking with 22 links.

That's not a competitive keyword and also different tools gives you different result.

Don't assume what tool A says is 100% accurate, besides, SEO is no longer about quantity but quality.
10 quality links can outweigh 1,000,000 worthless spammy links.

I wish I could neg you for being an ass, I understand that different tools have different spiders. Backlink watch shows 22, it was a quick lookup.

Lets also be clear, sites may rank for something a while and then next update be gone. It has probably happened to everybody here. Especially in projects that go heavy on the black hat links. If you are looking for insight from this legitimately you should be picking at the on site optimization and seeing if they did something that you are not. Onsite is more important in longtails than most people think.

i have experienced low competitive keyword got ranked very quickly. so am not surprised
