how did this scammer know?

    I bought a new domain and protect it with whois protection but this guy send an email about this new domain and recommend his services.

    How did he track my email address that are link to this domain?

    the registrar from which you buy this domain isn't reliable. They might sell him your information or he got a way to accessed to their customers information.

    the whois email automatically redirects to your email, it just masks your real email, as far as i know

    Scraped it from WordPress admin.
    I don't believe how many people go through
    all the bother of WHOIS protection and then
    leave gaping holes in their site.

    Home Page:
    info@yourdomain.com or webmaster@yourdomain are usually set as default for email on new domains. So a spammer needs simply to send their shit to these inboxes.
