I have a site that has a wp blog set up in a sub-directory, but I want to move it to the main directory, but still keep my current index page.

I created a new page for wp, and then set it as the home page, so that the index page would still be my current one, but that didn't work. All the post pages show my current index page instead of the post.

Changing the template for the wp index page won't work either. It seems a redirect wouldn't work, as I don't want the final destination to be mysite.com/anything, I'd like it to be just mysite.com.

Hopefully that makes sense. All the pages as a normal wp blog, just the home page different and not using wp.

use wordpress for the homepage but get something like ibuilder (has been on here many times) and rebuild your index page.
that way you have the look and feel you want and then you have the functionality you want from wordpress.

The current home page, which is not a wp page.

The current non-wp home page is a php file and I don't want to convert the home page to a wp page.

    I'll check that out, thanks.

I was hoping it would be pretty simple by adding some sort of 'if then' code somewhere in the index file but I guess not.
