Does it show conversions then, later in the day, it takes them away? or does it just never show up as a conversion at all?

If they're taking conversions away (ie. they appear then disappear later in the day) then that is probably the advertiser scrubbing, ie. checking over your leads and deciding that they are invalid for some reason (or they're just not going to credit you with them for some reason).

If it's genuine shaving on the network end then the leads will never show up at all, as if they never existed. It would be pretty dumb of the network to show you leads and then take them away if they just want to steal your money outright.

Just try the exact same offer or one close to it on a different network.

a lot of times networks don't even get the pixel placed correctly, so leads won't show up no matter what. they might still get paid because the tracking the advertiser uses will still fire the pixel they use, so the aff network gets paid but never shows a lead, it will show clicks though

I totally agree that these CPA companies shave leads.

I had an email submit program that I use to get a 40% conversion rate for (unfortunately that campaign ended), I then tried sending my traffic to another CPA company's page only to receive a conversion rate of 10% (which the affilate manger told me was a great%).

I told the Affiliate manager that the pixels arent firing but he insisted on telling me that it works fine, despite the fact that I put in a email my self (and the lead never recorded) just to test because I dont want to throw away thousands of dollars in advertising.

You are referring to scrubbing. Advertisers get the say when the information is good or not.

Shaving is the advertiser paying, but the network telling you that you didn't get a lead.

Most networks just list offers at .1 to a few $$ under what the full advertised Price Per Lead is. That is how they get revenue

I dont see how I can track CPA offers myself...it seems that would require the coopoeration of the original vendor, let alone the CPA NW.

CPA offers shave but it is inevitable...

My opinion: Just let it go. If advertisers didn't make money there would be no advertisers.

It is better for them to shave than for them to just say, "Sorry this isn't working out, I am not gonna let you publish for me anymore".

If you are in a big network (Neverblue, Maxbounty, etc.), don't worry about it. They make sure nothing goes to outta wack.

If you are in a small network, get into a big one.
