Look at how much time the visitors spend on the website. If 50% of them spend 0-1 sec then there is something fishy...

First install analytic in your website then check traffic source in over view.

What keywords is the site ranking for?
What is the main source of traffic for the website?

If it's social Media, then ask for it's social media page to verify it's authencity and see the activities over there.

    Good luck and wise question.

Google Analytics can be faked by bots acting as real visitors with low bouncerate and time on site higher than 0 seconds.

Yes you can send keywords to Google Analytics using bots. All the information in your GA account can be faked using bots. No problem.

Is it a brand new site or an established one?
Depending on how much historical data you have, you could really dig into it and see if the numbers make sense.

I would say an extremely low session time and an extremely high bounce rate since the two are associated with each other.
