I want to do some reputation for one of my websites. I would like to publish positive articles on authority blogs in the same niche to create some buzz around my brand.
How do I do that? how do I approach these blogs? How do I convince them to publish an article?

This is less about reputation management and more about marketing. In order for other blogs to want to publish your article you need to provide value to them. That can be in the form of payment, excellent content or being well known in that industry.

You can find bloggers in your niche at twitter, follow them and build relation with them by commenting on their articles, tweeting and retweeting their content. Once there is some relationship built you can approach them letting them know you want to write on their blogs.

Buil a relation or pay them. There are a lot of blogs selling advertorials (also without mentioning it's an ad on the blog)

At first you need to make your blog nice and useful to your audience as they respect and feel necessity of you . Then they'll be automatically convinced.

Try to contact them via who is and get phone number and call them. Let them know u r willing to pay them.
