Hey fellas, as the tittle says, i own a 9 million long list, separated by states and with information tagged along, such as name, company, website and phone number.
With this you and i can achieve great things, i know it, everybody knows it. What i was planning to do, was using the first 500k emails on some case studies, to make the most out of the rest.

Already have a blog with some nice content, indexed by google, with some ads, just need to start driving organic traffic onto it.
I have a couple of problems tho.. After intense search, i found no bulk email sender that is free, and atm i have no $$ to invest, so.. what can i do with this? Can you guys point me out some directions in what to do here?

    cheers!

I eagerly await the day I read a thread with # Million emails, and they were double opt-in.

Even if it's just to brag, I'd love to see that thread...Especially from someone not jr vip or higher.

    It's like waiting for messiah

You may want to see if there's a service that can help you. Without proper knowledge you're most likely going to screw yourself over.

You have 9 million emails and don't know what SMTP is? I think you need to do some more research before you jump into this.

Some 20 years ago, all of us cool kids on "the Internet" dialled in modems screaming away. We were assigned a fully addressable IPv4 address with no filtering, NAT-ing or any of that bollox. We could run full stacks of services on our UNIX boxen including SMTP, FTP and Gopher .. we could do "real-time social networking" in this wonderful invention called IRC - long before Twitter, Facebook and all that crap.

It seems the skills of old are lost on today's generation, not a day goes past where I don't see some marketing crap about how "deliverable" their bulk mailer software/service etc. The reality is, you can run your own Mailer/SMTP software almost completely free. Assuming your Internet Service Provider is prohibiting this from your home IP, you can get a cheap VPS to run some free/open-source SMTP server software.

What it boils down to is this:

1). If you cannot comply with the CAN-SPAM requirements, I suggest you get a VPS in a US-unfriendly territory like China and install the basic tools you need (use Linux because its all free).
    or,
2). You have bought an opt-in list, and can comply with CAN-SPAM - you can run a VPS anywhere you like and with a few free tools be up and running.

Of course check your prospective VPS Hosters terms to make sure they don't do anything silly like block SMTP and you should be fine. I've run mailing lists for decades and all this "Inbox guarantee" stuff is primarily hype designed to part fools from their money.
