Hi everyone!

Can someone tell me if there's a software that automatically counts the total number of links on a page and then outputs this number (along with the links) in a nice report for me to stare at like an idiot?

I can't do this manually for 3-4k pages because I will grow beard, get old, die, then get born again and grow another beard and get old again and die and.... well, you get the idea :)

Please note that I'm not going to buy any software or tool that does this, I only wish to know if there's something on the market that can do this and what it's called. That's all!

Thanks in advance!

I don't. But I didn't think it was possible, and that's all I wanted to know :)

Cheers!

view source then find all "a href" and it will highlight all the links basically.

um, yeah but I won't do this manually for 13500 URLs lol

you asked about a page not a whole website. If you want a whole website view the easy was is through ahrefs.

I said "in bulk" in the title of this thread, which means that I need to check a huge chunk of URLs at the same time. But I don't blame you for misunderstanding that part because sometimes I fail at english, so I probably explained myself poorly :p

And now that you've mentioned ahrefs: can it do this checking in bulk??

Ahrefs can tell you the outbound links by page and such. It really depends on what you are looking for. Ahrefs will get you to the end decision if thats what you are getting the data for. Things like top page by links, top ranking pages, ect... It depends what you need to data for.

BHW has a 30 day trial of SEMrush too which is good for keyword research and supports the forums.

I've purchased backlinking packages many years ago for some of my websites and I've saved the URLs of the pages that contain the backlinks but there's like 14k of such URLs and I don't remember which websites I've purchased links for, and I need to check if my links are still on those pages or not, but I obviously don't want to do this manually because it takes me years to go through each URL and see which one still contains an active backlink, and which not.

That's why I was curious if there's a tool that can automate this process. And I know about the 30 day trial from SEMRush but I'm not going to even try it because I know that I'm going to like it and I can't afford paying for a paid membership. I'm getting SEMRush with group buy services in 10 days or so, and then I can finally afford staying with the big dogs at the same table and finally start ranking my websites in google and making the big moolah cause I will be able to see where my websites fall short, what I need to do, how to optimize the content and so on. I can hardly wait to get my filthy hands on those delicious tools and play with them like I play with mys... um.... nevermind.

I'm not sure whether I understood you right...
Do you mean that:
1. You have a list of links to pages on which you got/bought some links in the past, and need to check whether your links are still alive?
For this goal, you can use SEO Screaming Frog
2. You have a website with tons of pages and want to check which pages have backlinks?
In this case Ahrefs can help..

1 Yes
2 No

So, Screaming Frog it is then... Much obliged!

There are lots of online tools out there that can extract all links on a page. Try searching "extract links on a page" in google.

I don't want to extract them, I just want to see if my backlinks are still on those URLs so I can sort (and eventually boost) the URLs that still have my backlinks and get rid of the others

Just use some HTTP status checker,
there are plenty online with limited numbers, for bulk Scrapebox can do the work
