Let's say there is a site called XYZ.COM, and when searched for their targeted keyword, they appear on the 8th page of Google?

Let's say I have a site called ABC.COM, and for that same keyword I rank #1 on Google?

Is there a way of doing 'something' that everytime a person clicks on ABC.COM when they search it on Google, it goes to XYZ.COM, BUT?. When it goes to XYZ.COM, it doesn't help with their ranking/traffic at all? So in other words, it will still stay on the 8th page as it was?

Yes, but it more than likely WOULD affect the ranking of ABC.com

You could create a redirect in PHP based on the referrer, if it was google.com/search-blarblarblar then redirect to xyz.com/yadayada.

Some people do this with affilate links, i.e. once they hit the #1 spot in Google they simply redirect their page direct to the affiliate link when someone visits it. Some people have reported lost rankings after a few days, others have said that they stayed in the #1 spot for over a year.

Search for a 301 redirect, probably what you need.

Hey guys, one more quick question (didn't want to make a separate thread).

Let's say I have ads on the site XYZ.COM, and the ads from that site like to ABC.COM/XYZ ... Let's say 1million people click on the ad and go go to ABC.COM/XYZ, would the ranking of JUST ABC.COM also go up?
