A certain website hosting service as "Auto-renewed" my account and is shamelessly refusing to refund - Even though they renewed it 15 days before the end of the last contract so technically the "new contract" hasn't started yet!
What's more outrageous is that the price 120$ for 1 year hosting is a gross overcharge!

Since I now own a completely useless, unlimited space account, I was thinking about using it in a way that would be the least profitable to the hosting provider! I don't want this space to sit there, unused with no bandwidth what so ever and no strain on their servers.
I am thinking about putting a file hosting service - no speed limit - no ads - just use my bandwidth that i paid good money for!
    What do you think?

EDIT: never mind... they caved in and gave me full refund :)

Don't you think they will just suspend the account once you do that?

Cancel the service. Request a chargeback from credit card operator. Post negative reviews of said service. That's all you can do to "punish" them.

Grow the hell up already. $10 a month for hosting is grossly overcharged? Good hosting is worth paying for and typically more than $10 a month. How much does it cost you when your site constantly gets hacked? How are your serps affected when your site is slow to respond or up and down like a yoyo? What are site backups worth to you when trouble happens?

There is so much more to hosting than a place to put a website on. Good hosting is worth more than $10 a month. Poor hosting isn't worth a penny.
