So it seems to be a text post if I am correct?

I cant fathom how to post an image into the text without tumblr not showing the image. When I do src

    Code:
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/steve_tilley/1234567890/"title="Blah by Steve Tilley, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/123456789012345_1a2b3c4d5e_a.jpg"width=100% alt="Blah" /></a>
even if I upload the image as a pic first and link back to it in tumblr, when posted, tumblr still just shows a gray bar where the image should be saying show external pic.

I want to do like guy in the link so I can text at the top or bottom. When you post image with tumblrs default thing you only get sent to the lightbox when you click it so you cant add anything there.

    Any ideas?

Image size? Isn't there a restriction in image size on tumblr?

    You mean free bump!

No but seriously look into some tumblr tools. It also may be their skin or some setting you have enabled. Tumblr is weird like that.

Click the little plus to the left of the rich-text editor. You'll get a camera icon where you can upload a pic. Go to html-editor and the result should be something like:

    <figure data-orig-height="128" data-orig-width="128"><img src="https://66.media.tumblr.com/8840b54d9981ac947c3b13181c70eeed/tumblr_inline_ocqii8H7lX1u62x3h_540.png" data-orig-height="128" data-orig-width="128" alt="image"></figure>

You can then add the anchor-tags around this.
