I bought a domain from GoDaddy, i have a web server set up at my house that i would like to point my domain to. Only problem is i have charter for an ISP, they block all incoming connections on port 80 and several other ports for spam protection. So i set my web server to listen on port 8000 and created an A record for my domain to point to it. Only problem is in order for people to get to it they have to enter it as www.myurl.com:8000 in order for it to go through. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can fix this so people don't have to enter the port to get to my site?

Thanks

What about using dyndns.org to forward? That would solve any future issues of your IP changing as well.

yeah use a web forwarding service.
why not just get webhosting it's like 5-10/mo from hostgator..

A few years ago I saw an online service that even let you run it from dialup and change the ip anytime instantly... was pretty cool it was years ago though.
