How can i make money with a webhosting domain name?

Last year i purchased a domain name that was being used for a web hosting company that went under. Even though the domain was only 4 months old at the time of purchase last year, i felt it had some kind of potential. The guy who owned it took the site to an Alexa ranking of 255,000 in only 4 months. It is the reason why snapped it up.

It has sat around for months not doing anything. It has thousands of backlinks from high PR sites, some of the largest web hosting forums on the net. So it must be of value but im trying to think of a way to use it to make money.

Adsense maybe? I don't want to start another web hosting company around the name. How about using sitebuilder? Offer some advertising and maybe build it up using the site builder software being offered here?

Interestingly enough, the owner contacted me last week and wanted to buy it back but was not willing to pay me at least the price i paid for it. What a cheapskate.

I also had it parked at sudoparking.com for a number of months. It received thousands of hit in a month but i made very little due to sedoparking taking most of it.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

my suggestion would be to put up a webhosting review site since you alrdy get traffic from previous backlinks. might work.

Forward the traffic to HostGator through your affiliate link until you have something set up on it.

tata7171's idea is PERFECT. Set up a review site with 5 or 6 different hosts and cs a couple more.

Forwarding to hostgator affiliate site is by far the best idea. Generate some backlinks in the process by posting some good reviews.
