So I have a bricks and mortar business and I'm targeting people in the areas around me. Lets say for example the business is gardening services.

So what I'm planning on doing is writing a single article describing the services I offer, then putting spintax in the article as follows:

"We have been offering gardening services to the people of [area1|area2|areaN] for the last 15 years".

So I'm planning to shove this into ScrapeBox and spin the article for each area, then using that article for an area targeted webpage.

The seed article is unique, and all of the area targeted pages will be used on my site only, but never the less, each page will be the same except for the spun locations.

Is Googal gonna penalise my site, or some/all of the pages because I did this? Or do you think it would be OK?

Thanks to anyone who has any useful thoughts.

First off, there is no penalty for duplicate content, typically the way SE's handle it is that they take all the copies and rank by authority of domain and the individual page (next time you are reading a PR, Google the title, you will notice pages of results that are all dupe content - clearly no penalty, just rankings adjustments).

If you want the content to appear unique page-to-page, though, you are gonna have to do a hell of a lot more than change one word in the title. Try rotating the positions of clauses within sentences and changing words (avoid changing articles like "the" and such as Google ignores those through it's stop word filtering). You can also Google "Blog Rewriter" or "Article Rewriter" and find like 100+ apps that will do this for you.
