It sounds to me like you are attracted to the "romantic" and enigmatic hype that surrounds the concept of "Black Hat". The only "darkness" (if you want to call it that) is the simple fact that a blackhatter is one who uses somewhat covert methods at times to get an edge or an advantage in their marketing endeavors. Most blackhatters use a combination of both whitehat and blackhat methods.
