My monitor just cashed on me. I had a samsung 24 but am thinking of getting a 27...Is there any drawback to getting a bigger monitor? Im thinking it will be easier on the eyes....

I find 24' the perfect size.
Anything smaller than that is too small but anything larger - too big!

Either go with the 27'' or maybe get two 24'' monitors if you have the room. I find dual monitors much more useful then one larger monitor.

I prefer multiple monitor setup
Why not go with 27" + 24"*2?

27 sounds nice. No point getting a 60" tv and sitting 1m away from it ...ofc depends how you have your desktop setup. Maybe get 2/3x 27" ? Then post pic should look great

27" IPS display, make sure it has higher than 1920x1200, and make sure your video card can handle it. :P

multiple monitors not the same size really sucks - have you ever tried to use them?
I currently have 22+ 17 setup and it's ok. As long as height won't have significant difference, It'll be ok

For the price of a new 27 inch monitor you might be able to get a 42 inch LCD TV from a pawn shop. Get yourself a TV output card connected to your cable connection and your set to do anything you want.

Buying a monitor is pretty much like making a love to a beautiful woman. First you have to check if the size fits your needs, spread her out on the desk, clean all relevant surfaces, walk all over her and then you plug in your cable.

Will a 27 inch lcd tv be the same as a monitor?

I mainly use a 27'' and it's perfect. Although sometimes I do miss tiny bits of vital information, lol.
