Blocks ads instantly, easy enough to setup, tons of people use it. Do you think banner ads and Adsense are a dying form of advertisement with apps like these blocking them? I've been trying to figure out a way around this and there's really not much I've found.. I've seen a pop-up before on a website that read something like "we see your running adblock, please disable it, it's how we support out site", and then it blocks me from visiting until I do so. But that's counterproductive don't want to turn away visitors.. Not everyone uses it, but there has a be a decent % of visitors with it enabled..

And I know affiliate programs are the best way to avoid this problem in the first place, but banner/image ads and adsense help diversify my revenue..

    Your thoughts?

Also makes me wonder.. How would these visitors feel if they were put back on the tried and hated "$1-2/month subscription" model.. If they aren't willing to accept banner ads which cost them nothing, they should be comfortable accepting forking over their CC # to pay for access. Everyone hates this but it seems like they deserve it..

I use ad blocks. And it's not because I don't want to support you. It's to support myself. JoinTopLine pays me to block ads and use there ads.

My ads cannot be blocked as I use an adult ad company which has a specific code not blocked yet.

A way around this though is instead of using adsense, sell ads pace by hand. Like what warrior forum does. they sell ads to people for a fixed amount of time and money.

    You can always do that.

I don't worry about it too much. Your typical Adblock user isn't a good customer anyway because they are too web savvy - they're not the kind of person who's going to blindly get out their credit card or sign up to a CPA offer.

The solution is to use non-standard banner sizes and your own text ads that won't get blocked. There's not much Adsense users can do to combat it... Except take solace that your typical Adblock user isn't going to be clicking on Adsense anyway.

Ad Blockers are mostly for the web savvy. You know what they say "there's a sucker born every minute". I wouldn't worry too much about the people who swear by Ad Blocking. If worse comes to worse, you can always sell ads directly on site using ad management software. Those can't get block.
