Where are they buying their product in order to sell for such a low amount? The final sale is either a low amount or they start at a low selling point?

I know sometimes people look for online sales and in store sales and just turn around and place the product on ebay and collect the profits. This has been one of my ideas in order to make a few dollars here and there but can't seem to understand and where to get the product for a discounted price in order to make a decent profit.

some buy in dollar shop and sell on ebay. But honestly if you wanna make money on Ebay you need to get items from China in buld (like a container) then sell them on ebay. This is the only way to make some real cash on ebay (at least the only way i know it works definitely). Ebay is such a saturated market therefore the profit margins are so low it is really hard to make cash out of it if you don't invest huge amounts.

Hope there are some people who make a killing on Ebay and tell us some insider stuff so we all know better

many big sellers are buying huge amounts and getting the discounts that go with that, only way to beat them is one offs that you get locally in garage sales etc

Apart from the sales method you mentioned, people buy large quantities through wholesales, liquidations and import large qty's from abroad (like china). They all have done their research and homework to find quality suppliers. Hope this helps, Ran60616

    The real question is not

"How can they sell so cheap"

    It is

"Who can sell so cheap "

Think about this for a minute and you'll have your answer

When people find bargains, they tend to look the other way. I once bought something on eBay for 45 cents with free shipping coming from China and it came--3 weeks later.

I'm really not into eBay, but if I'm not wrong sometime sellers try to sell just a product in large quantity even if they don't profit a lot for collecting positive reviews. Which will help them later for more expensive items.

Some cheap products are sold at buying cost, or even at a loss. This is to increase the number of positive feedbacks and also to improve your exact match score.

I hate eBay.. so high fees, so much crap from the customers.

Answer is either they buy in bulk directly from suppliers and then sell them in units or simply they drop-ship goods :)

If you want to compete in eBay you need to find your exact niches that can land profits.
Or buy in large quantities. Drop shipping mainly only works for replica products and then you have Vero to deal with.

To start out on eBay I have a easy method that I posted here in the Money making section since it can work with eCommerce to.

Many times, you're also dealing with Chinese wholesalers so the only way you can beat them is stating that you're a native seller and you will ship the item quickly (in 2-3 days). Most Chinese sellers can't do this without charging significantly more for shipping.

My brother use to get everything directly from China so thats how , He could compete in the market and make good cash !
The only problem with that, is that is China they are to many fake companies how can still your money. You have to dedicate time to investigate about the company before making business with them.

When I used to have more time for eBay before my Uni work got shit real I used to buy bulk of about 2-5k of "an item" - get each item for a few pence (Yes I am english) - most I would pay for items would be about 1.50..maybe stretch 2.50 if the item was good and I knew I could sell it higher (obviously).

I would only buy the item if
    A) I had researched it, found the lowest price currently on eBay by a GOOD rated seller - 100+ feedback min.
    B) Negotiated a good price with the supplier OR found a good price for a bulk buy of said item on eBay (DO NOT BUY BULK BUYS THAT THERE ARE TONNES OF POSTING FOR!, it usually means they are selling less and less each time and need to get rid of the item quickly.)
    C) Sold 10-20 for a few days to test the water..see how well they sell etc.
D)Sell some for even cheaper to get people talking
    E) Be really cheeky and put a different item in the "variations" that is eeeven cheaper so then it looks like your item is like 50p..when in reality the one thing they want is actually 2-3

    Enjoy.

They have a bigger amount of money to invest and they buy more items at a cheaper price.
