I was looking at some BST with permanent homepage links for a one time fee. They max the obl. My question is wouldnt this eventually cause the owner of the BST/Network to eventually lose money if they tend to keep the network up? Wouldn't registration/hosting fees eventually eat up all the profit and cause them to lose money? This might happen after many years, but eventually at some point will happen.

Easy, they're not permanent. They will stick until "something unexpected" happens.

I have spent probably 10 or 30 K on these.

    100% fact, not permanent.

I cant even be bothered to look but I bet you links from 1 year ago are all gone.

Buying stuff off BHW has been the most irritating part of my career.

Why do you expect to get permanent homepage links that will last forever ? If it lasts 1 year that is considered as very good.

Most of the sites have let's say 10-30 links pointing to them, after 1 year websites loses A LOT of those links thus making the websites useless.

It's poor planning at best and an outright scam at worst and should be a red flag to stay away. It's the same thing as software that has no monthly or yearly maintenance fee, after a short period of time when no new money is coming in on the project you'll see updates quickly go out the window.

Stick with maintenance fees, at least then you can see there is incentive to keep things running as they should be.

I'm glad I didn't have to be the one to point out that permanent really doesn't mean permanent.

I have no intimate knowledge of any permanent link seller on this forum but it is not possible to guarantee just a few link places for ever. If you get a year's placement then you will have gotten as much as could be expected really.

As soon as a site has filled all of its link slots there is 0 benefit to the seller to maintain that site any longer and it will merely become a financial burden to them.

Renting links can be expensive but at least you know you are only going to be paying for as long as the link is live.

The cheapest alternative will likely always be to own and run your own PBN, at least with that you can guarantee the links are live for as long as you need them and you can guarantee the quality of the sites and that they are not linking to hundreds of other unrelated sites.

I bet if you can't get back your investment into buying these PBN posts after one month you are in the wrong business. At least you should recoup your money with a tidy profit after 2 months.

Lifetime for links = I'll be glad they stay for just 3-6 months. Lifetime memberships = I'll be glad if I get my ROI fast enough or owner doesn't
disappear/die, fails to update or has a new software/membership version. Lifetime, guaranteed for services, I'll make the owner clearly define it
for me, especially for a $100+ investment OP.
