I heard that micro niche finder is a great tool and a way to identify random high paying niches..anyone using other good methods to find a niche for your blog?

i really love googles keyword tool... it gives you the best search number.
and the best is, its free ;)
i dont like micro*nich*efinder very much, and i guess it only pulls googles data in the end.
mar*ket sam*urai looks pretty good, but they also use only googles data...which is in the end not so bad

Check keyworddiscovery dot com or keywordspy dot com, you can see your competition keywords...

seobook keyword tool is a good one too..

Code:

market samurai is good. I have used Keyword elite earlier but that was bit slow.

Market samurai get the keyword data from google, the additional feature is it gets the long tail keywords from seodigger site. ( this is ofcourse free).

apart from this gets google adwords info aswell. though all these things can be done manually its the time you save that makes this piece of software attractive.

Three good free tools I've used...

Code:
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

I second that on Mark#et Samura*i.... greeeaaat program. Gives you OCI, Adwords Value, Adwords competition, and many other interesting approximations. Wordtracker sucks... it was cool a few years ago, but even Google's free tool will give you waaay better info.

Wordtracker is at the mercy of two meta crawlers supplying info on about 1% of all internet searches. Meh!

Well, apart from seobook keyword tool and google keyword, the best paid keyword research tool for me is Adwords Analyzer.

Btw, adword analyzer has the same function as Market Samurai too...

Code:
http://adwordanalyzer.com/

I use a combination of Spy Sites like Keyword Spy/Spyfu plus Google's Keyword Tool when I'm launching a campaign. This will give you a great place to start.

After my campaign is up and running, I will use paid tools to tweak my keywords as well as the same as I used in the beginning.

Seobook is a great free tool I use as well.

The main thing is to not get caught up in hopping from tool to tool or buying all the newest ones. If you have the cash, getting a paid membership at Keyword Spy is well worth it.

Another tool you can use, fresh from Google

Code:
