I installed Piwik recently but it is not recording all the vistors. It doesn't even track search engine referrals.

I followed all their help guides and double check my mod_security wasn't an issue.

Anyway I was told to use Awstats in the CPanel and this is what it is showing:

Surely this is not correct for a site this young, is it?

    Home Page:
That's totally possible, you can cross check it with Google Analytics to be sure. Although GA, will always report a smaller figure than Awstats.

Hmm, I don't run GA cause there is slight BH stuff so don't want them monitoring what I am doing. Don't get me wrong I hope it is true but I find it hard to believe.

I will watch it a little closer and see what happens, Thanks for the reply Rick!

Download the raw server log for June, you can get it from the same tab where the Awstats link is located. Extract and open it with WordPad. You will see each request together with accessed page/resource, IP, referrer (if any) and so on.

If you find thousands of lines, well, awstats is showing you the real deal.

That is what I thought but if you look at the top it says that they are tracked separately.

I remember my first site had Awstats and before I'd done any promotion was showing 800 visitors per day. I think they were all bots and only once I'd started advertising did i start making sales. Awstats is on another of my sites and I found it's still reporting really high numbers that I don't believe. I'm using wordpress on that site.

    Hope this helps.
