we build massive sites and we need a hosting provider that will allow millions and millions of pages hosted. Currently using HM, but they are capping us after a few hundred thousand.

yeah, he could do that too if he doesn't have an intense CPU site. I will go with a KVM or XEN vps because they are isolated better

It doesn't matter what the virtualisation type is, a OpenVZ node could outperform KVM/XEN if the disk I/O is better.

If you got that many pages, you would need to cache them or at least export them as a static site. Installing Varnish or optimising a Nginx/Php-fpm stack would be best opposed to using Apache. You would want a bit of Ram though to handle it all, I would recommend at least 2-4gb.

https://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/kimsufi.xml have some cheap dedi's if you want to look there.

You should start your site when you find the suitable host otherwise a large site can be complicated for transferring from one server to other.
