Contact your host. You don't have any control of the hosting space?

I have a feeling you're about to learn a very hard lesson if this is the case.

so you paid big money for a domain and didn't get the details first? i guess that's a smart move.

How did he send the username and password to you in the first place? I am assuming after you paid, he sent you them.

Email, PM, IM? You should be able to recover it even in most IMs.

So, what you're saying is that you bought a site from a guy, he kept it on his webspace, kept the domain in his name, and you sent him money for all this, then "lost" your login info?

Hell, the guy probably changed it on you. You more than likely got screwed if the guy has magically disappeared and isn't responding to you. I've been bit a couple times, and the story sounds familiar. If he IS your "host" then you're probably shit outta luck. Best you can do is cross your fingers and hope he reappears and gets you sorted. At which point, you better get things in your own name, and fast.

Don't do something like this again. Learn your lesson.

if the hosting isn't in your name, you don't really have an option other than for this guy to show back up.

Have you checked the junk/trash/deleted folder within your e-mail client?

Contact the hosting and not the guy! Trace your domain if you don't know it

Is it a private server or does he have a reseller account? If you don't know you can do a WHOIS on your domain name. If it is a site on his personal computer/server then your out of luck until he responds. If he has some type of re-seller account then you can can call/contact the people that he purchased the reseller package from.
