    Hi BHW

    Queston1:

As I'm starting to understand hosting and servers a bit more as a noob, I'm trying to figure out how to get my own source of proxies, instead of paying a proxy provider. I've recently understood that you can install and configure server proxy files, such as squid and glyde to have your proxies.
I've never done this before, but can someone point me in a direction where to start? A linux vps or should a free amazon instance be enough to try? The free amazon instance has a low bandwith. Should you dedicate a cheap linux vps to just be a proxy server?

How do you get all those unique ips?

so I want to know how I can get my own proxies, relatively cheaply. My current webhost, apparently in their terms of service, doesn't allow any proxy server applications to be installed on my shared hosting account. I bet they'd keep my money and delete my files if they found out.

    Q2

My main aim with this question is to try and get a vps to run seo tools, such as sb and gsa ser on. It's just not effective to have your seo tools on an old laptop, to try do your website building business and ranking them at the same time. I can't run gsa ser for example, because it makes my net speed too slow.

    Q3

What specs should I look out for a vps?
    Where to buy?
    Who to trust?

    Q4

Affiliateship: I want to sign up personally via my own limited company as an affiliate of the vps company. me and my company are 2 different legal persons, but most people don't understand that. Probably, vendors would ban me for this. Any tips on this? I've read people using their own aff links cleverly.
Affiliateship2 : Direct affiliateship or affiliate networks. WHere can you find the best providers?

    Love you bhw

Sounds like you are trying to do too many different things to me.

For GSA/SB you need a good VPS - more power the better. There are lots of providers here on Bhw for that.

Setting up a proxy server of your own will be a long learning curve I think. Yes you need a VPS first, you need to know how to use linux and you also need a host that can provide nice block of IPs for your server, as well as a host that doesn't mind what you do with them.

re the affiliate stuff, difficult - although you and your company may be separate entity, it's going to be obvious that you are only signing up as affiliate to reduce your own costs.
