Hosting a movies streaming website... We know it is illegal but whats the penalty?

Hi,

I always wanted to run a movie streaming website and monetise it like movie 2k and afdah.com . I wanted to ask what is the penalty for having a site like that? Can it lead to problems with the police or any court problems. does it lead to arrests or it is just simple as taking the website down as a penalty.

I really need an answer to this. thanks

you can easily host your streaming website on an offshore hosting, hide your domain whois and no one can track the owner behind the website. you wont go to jail for sure but in severe cases your movies or website can be taken down

I would vote for both options lol because both are possible.

it can lead to the first option if you dont know what you are doing, if you know than option no.2.
