I'm promoting hostgator and sending a lot of traffic to them. I'm consistently getting 10-14 signups every month, but they only pay me 1 or 2. I asked them politely last week what was going on and got my affiliate account suspended without any explanation at all.

Has any of you had problems with hostgator affiliate also? What would you do in my place? The same way i promote them, i can say bad things about the service. Do you guys think that if i do that they will pay me what they owe me.

Here are some of the signups i got on april

I currently use their affiliate program and have been nothing but happy with then. I only had 1 snag where they denied me some referrals because some people used my coupon code on multiple accounts. (same credit card) But that's understandable...

I guess, it depends on your marketing strat.. I work mostly off-line advertising with their hosting but i also have one mega site that gets lots of targeted traffic. I could imagine anything spammy would set them off... It could also be that you had a large amount of fraud signups from one IP over a large span of time.

Either way, I wish you luck trying to get that account back up. I know from experience that they are a very reasonable company and am pretty confident if you are being legit with them they'll at least try to make it right.

10-14 signups every month and 1 or 2 sales approved? its weird..

i send them 25 sales and only 15sales approved, maybe you got many fraud signups :)
    so they ban you.

I would expect any advertiser paying that much per lead would be strict about methods used by affiliates. I love hostgator so far and I wouldn't dare go blackhat with them like I do some other companies :p

I've never really had a problem with them, where is your traffic coming from?

I've always been paid and have never thought that funny stuff was going on with my account. Chances are you have crap traffic or fraud signups.

I assume you already were aware that HG will only spring for the commission once a sign-up has been with them for 3 months......

Even if they purchase a larger period of sign up they still wait the 90 days

The other point is that in combo with the "90 day" point, maybe you're "over promising" and people aren't staying?

That happens as you know the way you advertise and what you promise can have a profound affect on whether someone stays with your product or bails

but you probably already know these things

    hali~!:)

like what the previous poster said, hostgator pays after the customer stays with the time required.

if i were you maybe i'll send them another polite letter asking them about the suspension. ask them for an explanation.

also, tell them that you're doing your best to give them top quality leads.

    just my 2 cents :)

    Home Page:
Switch to another hosting aff program and if it is the same then the problem is in your traffic / the way you advertise.
