Hostgator or???

What web host is better?

Hostgator or Hostmonster or Monsterhost some people say.
Bit confusing that.
Thing with Hostmonster or Monsterhost ) is that they have autoresponders.

P.S if ya sign up throw me some dollars to Paypal.

A lot of people bitch about hostgator but it's probably because of the sheer number of clients. There's always going to be some unhappy campers. I haven't had any problems with them, it's cheap and support is pretty decent.

Hostgator all the way, never let me down . For an autoresponder get an aweber or getresponse account.

Well, with recent events in dealing with hostgator, I thought that as well but then, they bottomed out one of my sites and I have to have it restored because thier ' chat support ' tech decided to take it upon himself to restructure my htaccess file and move a bunch of stuff around on my directory for this particular domain and screwed it to hell and back.

They finally fixed it when I contacted the general manager, Ford Merill and Brent directly, only to find the truth of the matter being that these guys are only customer service people in random company locations and NOT actual technical support but are working as such under the chat support console.

FYI- If you ever find a problem with them, be sure and submit it directly to the support@hostgator ticket system. They are NOT allowed to modify your account on the chat but will and still do anyway and will fubar your site.

Also, watch your cron jobs, as hostgator will cap you and cancel your account for going over so many inode files, which count everything from a small jpeg to a full script page. Every item counts as an inode. I confronted them about hiding this in the forum instead of under the tos because they hid it, not notifying people when it went into action. This can cause you problems in ever being able to reach your account and they will send you an email notice if you reach this limitation. Stand firm, as they can NOT restrict you in any way from peaking the max quota of your purchased account space under any reason.

As for the autoresponders, the one hostgator offers is just fine, however, the guru have conditioned everyone to call a capture list the same thing as an ' autoresponder ' and it is a completely different creature.

Instead of purchasing a monthly service like aweber, just use a program like ' autoresponder unlimited ' and post that to your site. Then you can build as many lists for as many sites as you want to. It builds the optin box for you and everything and is completely customizable as far as the look and size goes.

I don't know about you guys but it's all I use. It's my personal opinion ofcourse but I can't see paying for something on a monthly basis that I can purchase for less than one month's fee - one time.
