    Hi guys,

I'm starting to require the need of a VPS for my SB needs, but I'm wondering if I could also host some of my sites on the VPS while running SB and get rid of my hostgator baby plan without losing site loading time/uptime.

    Thnx

If you want VPS you need add cost of $15 per month for Cpanel, or $5 for Direct Admin.

So you are not paying $15 per month, you need to prepare yourself for $35-$40.

But thats not all. You need probably windows as well for your SB - so extra $$

You need to decide how much you are making and if VPS will bring you enough $$$ to cover it cost.

Isn't Scrapebox Windows only? Could be wrong there, but I think that would be what you are looking at. In which case most VPS you purchase will also need to come with a Windows License, and you will need to know how to configure IIS with PHP.

Alot of people are going around right now trying to get a VPS for scrapebox and still host. Honestly, it isn't worth the hassle. We have people coming to us trying for the same thing, and I still think it is just easier having them separate. PHP hosting using cPanel is so much easier than IIS.

Yes so you will need to know how to run webhosting on a Windows box (Different from a Linux box). Using either IIS, Or I think you can get Enkompass which is the same as cPanel.

Realistically, as I said above, I would recommend keeping things seperate.

and you'll most likely need something more powerful than a 15-30 dollar VPS. Scrapebox can chew up some bandwidth and ram, i'd suggest getting a Dedicated server just for these tools. I personally have Xrumer, Backlinker, Scrapebox, SeNuke etc, running from my dedi and sometimes I wish i had more horsepower..

I am running SB from $35 package from Xsserver.eu... I also got dedicated server for my another license... It all depends upon volume you doing... For starters to mid usages Xsserver vps are very good deal...

BTW as Pyronaut suggested keep your sites away from SB... You can keep running $10 baby plan from hostgator... You will not get cpanel on your windows vps and I personally find it very easier to manage my sites with cpanel and whm...

It's worth it to spend the few extra bucks for a windows vps at xsserver.eu ($35 plan), because you'll be able to work much more efficiently, and cover more ground quicker.

neodregan, it is difficult to configure the vps? I am planning on getting a win vps plan from those guys but I'm a total n00b when it comes to configuring/networks/hosting etc...

Nah, the only thing that I did was get the latest windows updates and install a virus scanner like malware bytes anti-malware(which is free). You might find that just the bare package with 256mb locks up sometimes, but that's only when I have like the browser open and a lot other stuff but if you're only intention is to run scrapebox, you'll be just fine. Although, I would recommend going with an actual webhost, i.e. hostgator etc if you're planning on hosting a website. A Windows VPS has the capability to host a website, but as others have said in the thread, it's nothing but a hassle as Microsoft felt the need to make things complicated with IIS.

Thanks a bunch! No, I was considering a VPS only for scrapebox/magic submitter, nothing more. :)
