Hello everyone

I am curious how are you holding your sited on the host

I mean How many websited/plan or how many visitors/month max you can expect without slowing down your website timings

Anyone with many websites or who knows ? A general recommendation ?

Like you can have as many websites as you want or stop when getting close to xxx visits per month or dunno.

I can't seem to find a answer anywhere

Bump, no one has a bag of sites or some experience with multiple plans because their sites started to get slow

or ?

i recently switched from lunarpages to hostgator baby

i have about 20 autoblogs running and about 2000 hits a day combined.

was using 40% of the entire shared server at lunar pages. on hostgator, its basically 0%.

i am hitting it pretty hard with the auto posting, and have not done hardly anything to optimize the resources...

if you have caching and possibly a free CDN, you could easily get into xx,xxx hits per day for heavy php sites, xxx,xxx for static sites...

just a guess, but im very pleasantly surprised with it considering the price

I am currently on hostgator, and have been for a long time. I have 18 autoblog/manual sites on the baby croc plan. I like to grow my sites that make money, by adding manual content.

I have a site that at its peak will hit 100,000 unique visitors a month, it is seasonal, so now it's around 50,000 a month, I have 10 others that get about 5-10 thousand a month, and the others get below 5 thousand a month.

I have actually had no problems with them, except I am now running into a problem of having too many files on the server, and they are not being backed up. The limit with baby crock is 100,000 files. They still allow me to keep building, I'm just not comfortable with not being able to have all of my stuff backup up by them.

I did once hit the 25% of CPU usage limit once, and they suspended the process that was causing it. But that was a plugin glitch, and once I re-installed it they reinitialized it on the server side, and I've had no problems since.

I'm now about to move up to a VPS, but that's because I now make enough money and have grown enough to make it worthwhile.

Good Luck and keep growing your business.

I'm glad I read this thread. I'm going to switch my sites to a new host in 2012 and I was wondering how slow/fast Hostgator was regarding traffic.

Nah, I don't run autoblogs but thanks for the imput

I guess we adressed the hosting issue

Y'all have a great day !

If you running autoblogs, just watch out for INODES

What's the deal with inodes? On one of my hosting plans with HG, I'm starting to get into the red for inodes... I think most of them are coming from the redundant nightly backups.

Will they shut down the account if it reaches 150k or whatever the limit is?

It's a business plan + unique IPs and priv SSL so its not their cheapest plan.

I dont really recommend HG for Wordpress sites. Search in google about that and you can see a lot of people experience the same.

Apart from wordpress sites, HG serves great. If you are running a forum, or any sites which can have more number of files, you should worry a little because HG limits no. of files that we can have on the server.(Nodes) (They say that is to maximize the hard disk life or so.)

Who do you recommend for hosting WP sites? I have 30 WP sites total spread out on 3 HG plans and my avg load times are like 7 secs +. I've been complaining about speed for years now.

HG will raise your inodes. They doubled mine once with no problem. Just put a request in.
