Not sure if I understand your question, but I suppose you have to create index.php or index.html file in public_html folder.

FTP and get at your files. As mentioned earlier the folder will be public_html.

You should have an email from hostgator with your FTP login details, if not contact their support and they will get it for you.

If you need an ftp client I recommend this one:

    http://filezilla-project.org/download.php

    How to use Filezilla:

I thought I would go ahead and post this just in case you didn't have a client or experience with FTP.

edit: I started typing this before you posted your reply ;)

Create an index.html file in your public_html folder.

edit: Have you already uploaded a site?

sign into your cpanel, go to file manager look for the page you want to ad the code to, edit and add the code in the header

what exactly is in your public html folder? If you go to your site can you see it? That may seem like a silly question, but your site should be easy to find in FTP. What all do you see when you login?

It seems like he used site builder that comes with hostgator. Better try to edit the site using site builder again. Try to find edit with HTML mode somewhere. Whats the Site builder Software you used ?

Yes there is but it is for the Hostgator cPanel or something.

I asked this to the hostgator chat support and the person said it may be because i used the basekit site builder and that is hosted on another server..... If i use wordpress or something should i be able to access the main source code for the site to enter the content lock code?
