Hostgator and downtimes?

What's up with Hostgator and their shared hosting downtimes? Was working on several sites just now and it has just been down for over 15 minutes!? It's quite annoying and none of the sites take up any resources (so far, yes - i always check to make sure nothing is fucked up...)

99.9% uptime guarantee? .. Yeah right.

Or does this have something to do with EU > US and their shared hosting? (tested other american sites as well just to make sure..)

My site was just down as well but it is back up.

Yeah, it's back up now.. but i've noticed that Hostgator has been having quite a bit of short down times a little here and there. It's quite annoying. :/
