I'm using Hostagor unlimited hosting for a year and a half now. I dont remember whats the name of my plan, but I get almost everything unlimited & pay $9.99.

Anyways, I was just curious about what Hostgator says about blackhat sites? I'm running bunch of CPA content locked fake stuff pages, and its obviously against TOS, but do they really care? Has anyone had experience like this with hostgator?

And what would happen if they caught me, my acc would be disabled instantly or would they allow me to backup everything at least? I'm not running any auto backup, I'm too lazy to set it up.

    Thanks.

Most of my sites are on hostgator and some of them are blackhat, I don't think they care.

as i said, i don't think they care, but maybe somebody knows better

I think this answers your question. Now the question is, Is blackhat illegal?
It depends on what you are doing. Fraud activities are considered illegal :)

There is no host that will straight forward allow you to cheat your visitors but in most cases they won't bother you unless they receive complaints. Just make sure you got off server backups in case things go sour.

unless you have DMCA, Trademark, phishing or other fraud, spam or you eat too many resources no hosting company cares what you actually do...

Exactly, I actually received a dmca and hostgator gave me like 48 hours to solve the issue, meaning to remove the infrigement content, I had no downtime or whatsoever other problems.

What type of site are you referring to exactly?

Reviews on blackhat software, blackhat forums, or something else.

    EDIT:

    I found this, while surfing.

HG threatened to pull the plug when they received a complaint over copyright.

I'd rather look for hosting providers (here on BHW) that won't terminate your account for a DMCA, etc.
