    hello roomies!! :)

I'll be will creating "websites" for visitors to my site, that use my affiliate link,
and are in need of a smaller online presence. I'll do it as a Hostgator affiliate
and that will be my profit(for now ) I will likely offer to make a site for
nothing, or minimal charge. I'll gain experience. I will likely only offer to make
a simple site, maybe two pages at best, and make my affiliate commish.....

    Here's my Question;

    Hostgator says; Incentivized commissions, and
offering any form of incentive to obtain a sale is forbidden,
unless prior approval is given and cleared by HostGator Staff.

That's listed in their T&C for "Affiliates".......

I thought to myself???? why do they want to "approve" you for "incentivized traffic" ??
for this type of "build you a website" instance???

is what I'm doing even qualify as "incentivized"??

Ill be doing this as an Affiliate, Not as a "Reseller"
and as such the customer has to stay
with HG for 90 days for me to get commish

Maybe they think you will be making websites for others, and they want to "verify" your credentials or skills or knowledge, before "using" hostgator's "reputation" ?? incase you "suck" at building sites? (I may infact "suck" but that's none of their business!)

    ?????

Or is this "general campaign checking" ??

    your experience appreciated

    Hali~!:)

Why not get a reseller account, and make money every month opposed to being payed once by hostgator?

I'm working on something similar with Host Gator. I contacted them and they told me first hand no problems. I advise you to do the same. Contact and they'll answer all of your questions.

p.s. unfortunately they only respond via email at this time, but just send them a wall of questions all at once and you'll get your answers

tzvil,, an affilaiet acct will work better for me at the moment

    ycfme,

Since I've only built my own sites in the past, I'm just a little apprehensive thinking they may want to hear about my "method" or experience
or something that gives them a sense I am very experienced at it..

and so of course I was a bit worried and concerned as I didn't want to "blow the chance" since HG's commish was pretty decent

Can I ask how did you approach them in your email to them?
you were an affiliate with them? what details did you give them?

(hope it's not too many questions, would rather get
at least one answer than nothing from ya! :) )

    thanks ycfme

    hey ycfme,

I tried to reply to your message, but the system says you've exceeded your "message" limit, and won't let me send anything to you until you clear some out...let me know when you did that I wanted to send you a message :)

    thanks ycfme :) :super:
