Well peoples have been talking that hostgator likes to rip off their affiliates,
How true is it? ( well personaly I have lost $6800 with them about 2years back- but well it was my own fault I was using super inicative for it it and spamming arround)

Seems that to get peoples to register there is really easy, If I make a Whitehat ( blog specially about hostgator, they coupons and so on.. and drive like 100sales per month to them ( I think all of them will be using that coupons from my site) They could just disable my account for nothing? as seems that they have done something like this in past for ''big players'' who drive them hell a lot of sales) ?
What u say how trustable is Hostgator with this Affiliate thing?

Don't send them to hostgator. Might as well send them to godaddy even though they suck balls.

The best hosting affiliate out there is BlueHost, I have been paid over $1200 using them, I would check them out before HostHator. Just my thoughts.

I will also ad they are one of the highest paying out there, $65.00 per order. I have actually considered using my own hosting company as their affiliate.

I don't think they are outright scammers. However this is what they do, that you don't know about.

Your customer must stay for 60 days and pay. If otherwords if they don't pay the second month of hosting, you don't get paid.

Second, if they used a VCC you don't get paid.

Third, if their hosted site has no content on it, you don't get paid.

Lastly, if your lead pays the second month payment late, you don't get paid.

I lost over $4,000 in commissions from them last January because people would pay their bill late. The only way around this is to get the people to pay for 12 months upfront.

If they do this your commission will instantly be locked.

    Hope this helps.

229tom, A Staff member from hostgator uses digitalpoint forums
And i heard alot of bad stuff about them not paying etc, I wouldnt bother wasting my time promoting them, Ye maybe they do pay people $200, But I bet once you try to cash out $2000+ they will think "HMM, its easy for me to just say he used incorrect promotion and keep this $2000 myself"

They do pay out. I've received quite a few commission checks from CJ ($100 ea sign up).

The only downside is that they take a few months to actually "freeze" or whatever CJ calls it.

There was a method here posted by gimme4free. He created an ebook that explains how to profit from affiliate hosting, He mentioned a hosting company differrent than the ones above, and they pay u $100 per referral, I am not sure how good they are as I have never tried them before, but he had no problems with them so I think they should be ok.
