I have been a Hostgator affiliate since 2010 and they have never paid me any commissions. Surely someone out of the 57 visitors to their page through my banner signed up. Recently 3 of my clients signed up through my page and every time I inquired about my blank commission page they send out the same form letter stating my commissions have been awarded to another affiliate. How can that be? They do not allow duplicate usernames. I don't even get a response from them until I give them a bunch of poor ratings to their response. I spoke with another affiliate (plugin developer) who told me they made mney with them a year ago but nothing this year. Is anyone else having this issue?

welcome to the club. Just put them on some of those huge rip-off sites so they can lose sales.

They have someone new running the Hostgator Affiliates program however, they have changed the game. Now you have to have 4 signups per "payout period" (whatever time frame that is) to even qualify for a commission. What BS?!?!?!

That's actually pretty normal. It's to protect themselves so you aren't purchasing the 1 cent package via your own affiliate link.

It has happened to me too. They were even in the same room as me as they followed my link and signed up. The problem is that they probably got a cookie off of somebody else's link before they followed your link. HostGator will always reward the sale to the first person to give them an affiliate cookie, which is stupid because they were my client and had nothing to do with some random person's link. Maybe even a cookie stuffer.

To be safe, ask them to use your custom coupon code (You can make one in HG Affiliate Panel). Or promote your coupon code instead of affiliate link. Coupon codes will override any cookies that the customer already has in their browser.

Yes they only approve few sales though i made all sales with coupon code but they pay for 1-2 sales if you made 5-8 sales.

They do have to protect themselves because people don't always stay the full amount. But I'm sure they do scam people out of sales.
