Just a heads up for anyone who uses these guys - and I'm pretty sure a few here do as they appear on a few "discount host" lists etc. I've got a few blog network sites with them, as I think others may

I just found this email in my junk email folder

    Code:
HostBandit is going out of business effective immediately.

You'll need to find a new web hosting company for your web site(s) immediately.

The server will be turned off within 5 business days from today (Friday). So you should have your web site transfered before Friday March 15, 2013 at 5pm PST. You will lose all of your data permanently if you do not transfer your web site before this time as all HostBandit servers will be destroyed permanently on or before this time.

PayPal is handing all billing and you need to contact them directly. You can email HostBandit at venturait@gmail.com to get a refund for time paid for but not used. Refunds are pro-rated on a monthly basis, where you will only receive a refund for months where zero time was used. There will be no telephone support provided beyond this time and emails will only be answered at venturait@gmail.com. All refunds will be made via PayPal. No checks or cash refunds will be provided.

HostBandit sincerely thanks you for being a valued customer and wished you the best of luck in your web hosting ventures.

the whole going out of business process has been very well run - I'll give them an A+ for communication on the matter

Lets see if I get my refund though!

Yeah, they seem to be doing a better job than half the hosts you hear about disappearing. One day they're there, the next they're not!

Hopefully they provide a prorated refund as promised.

a week is better than the last host that went out of business on me. Suddenly my websites disappeared, no message, nothing. I only found out about it when I went to their home page.
