Recently I had a horrible experience with http://freelancer.com/

Some client opened a milestone with me, http://freelancer.com/ took upfront fees from me [regardless the project done in success or not, I take the money from the client or not] they take their commission first and not refundable

I don't want to go in details, simply I was not comfortable to work with the client he was busy and added a requirement to access his laptop to work on it, he was very busy and working on his laptop in the same time

I could not work, cancelled the milestone & asked him to work with a different freelancer in a professional way

he started to threat me

"I will give you 0 rating"

"You will not get work again"

"I will hurt your profile"

the client was a person with mental diseases

The point is in the rating system inside these freelancing platforms

they give the clients the green flag to threat us and hurt us

Some points

- I'm a senior software engineer [+8 years] with Top Rated badge on Upwork [best 10%], Working in multi-national companies, no client treated me like this before

- There's many opportunities in the market to get work [outside freelancer.com] & I refuse a lot of interviews & possible work

- http://freelancer.com/ itself is a scam platform, they took commission and their client did not pay anything to me

- It's expected to see clients like this in this trash platform

I canceled my subscription in http://freelancer.com/ and told their support that they are useless for me, f##k them and f##k everyone who threat us and consider himself have the control over our future jobs

also I gave them 0 rating in all the popular reviews websites

ZERO for them not for me

I used them long ago. Pure bullshit of a website. Probably the worst on the market.

By the way, try to workout these situations in the future, just delay things from your part and speak about errors in connection etc.

Learn to shift scenario, even if you have to lie, so they need to adjust to you or give up, but not you.

Sorry for it, but if you are a reputable freelancer on Upwork, there is nothing to worry about, glad that you don't depend on freelancer.com to make money
