Hop count and potential customers

Hi guys,I can remember that once I read somewhere that for aafiliates the CB hops and sales might not be count due to the antivirus and firewall systems of the potential customers, Is it a fact or it is just a rumor?If it is a fact, then any possible solution?thanks

As Freddyjames already said, this in complete nonsense made up by people who are lousy at affiliate marketing.

Thanks mates for your responses.

So in any case when somebody clicks on a hoplink the hops will be counted, right? No exception then?

Furthermore I am wondering if a visitor clicks on the hoplink of a guy and then go to another website for that product and clicks on the new hoplink and buys the product through it then which affiliate takes the commission?
What if the second link happens to be the vendors main page if you know what I men?

The second guys hop would override yours.

I think if they go to your hop than leave/review product and go straight to the product page, assuming no other hops were clicked between yours to theirs, it should still acknowledge your cookie.

To test this, clear browser, click your hop, exit the tab, open new tab and go straight to vendor site, go to check out and look on bottom. Should say affil = yourname if it says none you are losing the sale.

It is also what drops the cookie to give you credit for your sale. When the buyer goes to your link but then ends up on another affiliate link before buying, that "hop" drops a cookie that overrides yours.
