Hello everyone,

I need some help overhere, some clarification because I don't understand what is going on with my website and google.

So my website is brand new and was indexed 2 weeks ago, all my pages are now indexed but there is no backlinks to it yet. My website is a dentist related website so we will use this domain as an example : ww,localdentist, com

Now I have an innerpage optimized to rank for the keywords: dallas dentist and dallas dental clinic. So my URL is like this one: www,localdentist,com/dallas-dental-clinic

I have the Title tag, H1, content and images optimized for thoses keywords. My interlinking is like this: My homepage link to my innerpage: /dallas-dental-clinic with the anchor: dallas dentist and
on my innerpage I link back to my homepage with a random anchor.

Now that I explained how my website is setup, I will explain what is going on. Before my innerpages were indexed my homepage was ranking for dallas dentist in position like 115 in SERP, when my
innerpage (/dallas-dental-clinic) was indexed my homepage was only ranking for the brandname and not for dallas dentist, my innerpage was ranking for the targeted keyword in position like 45 in SERP.

I was happy everything was fine but since yesterday on my rank tracker software my innerpages are not ranking anymore and my homepage is ranking for the keyword dallas dentist in position 115 back again instead
of my optimized innerpage.

So I dont know what is going on and what should I do, because I dont want my homepage ranking and outranking my innerpages keywords, I want my innerpages to rank instead of the homepage.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

I used to have that problem when sites would get penalized in G, but lately I've noticed G doing that to new sites with 0 links. You have a couple options:

1) If you don't want to start building links yet simply add more content and submit your sitemap to G. Within a couple weeks the correct pages should rank (unless someone is neg. seoing you.)

2) Start link building to all pages withe proper anchor. Be sure to use a lot of raw url as anchor. This should straighten things out quicker, but be sure to use good Tier 1 links.

Thank for the info Hubba !

I already have a lot of great content and I already submited my sitemap to G.

I will see if the link building help, but I was going to build link only to my homepage. I did not want to build link for my inner pages I wanted the juice from the homepage to go to my innerpage so it rank a little at least. But Im afraid that if I build link to the homepage and not the innerpage It will only get worse :S

What do you guys think ?

With brand new sites I like to straighten that with internal links, then build links on other sites.

Google would rank pages that are more relevant, so optimize your inner pages but do not overdo things.

I can tell you that my inner page is alot more relevant and optimized for dallas dentist than my homepage is.

Which factors do you guys think it's causing this the most: My interlinking ? Should i remove my link to my homepage from my innerpage?, my anchor (dallas dentist) on my homepage that link to my innerpage, the fact that my website is brand new, that there is not backlink yet or that maybe my innerpage is over optimized (but i doubt it is).

What I find strange is that all my pages are indexed since last week and that my innerpage was ranking for my targeted keyword for like 3-4 days and now it's gone...

Thanks

It is good to focus on homepage link building, but it helps a lot to link your inner pages too. The safe route would be to make a majority of your homepage links branded and raw url. For the inner pages I make fewer links, but more targeted anchor text.

As I mentioned before, if you did nothing more and waited a couple weeks the rankings would probably return for your homepage.

Just build links to the internal pages you want to rank and avoid using their target keywords in the title of your homepage. Problem solved!

Brand new site always shows up and disappears in the SERP for the first month, it's quite normal. My client site shows up on 23, gone the next day, and reappeared three days later at 26, gone again, and showed up again the week after. It will stabilize after it enters month 2. Hope this helps.
