I built a new site ~6 weeks ago and got it indexed. Then I started some link building. Nothing crazy, max 1-3 links a day. I made some good progress in ranking. However, one week ago my homepage got deindexed. Not that it does not rank anymore, it is really deindexed. Cant find it with site:money.com. Also I dont get any results when I search for text from home.

Just home, other pages are still indexed

No message in wmt. But I setup wmt AFTER that happened. If there is a manual action against a site and the site owner sets up wmt later will he get a message nevertheless?

I made some research and found that it happens from time to time that new sites get deindexed and reindexed a bit later. But it was always an issue of 1-3 days not one week. Is there anything I can do except for waiting?

I have had many new sites indexed - deindexed and then indexed again.

Is it a new domain name or are you building the site off an expired/deleted domain?

If it is the latter, you may be dealing with a penalized domain from the previous owner. If that is the case, you probably won't get a message in GWT either.

I could not give an exact time, but I would not be too bothered going off what you have said. And yes normally it is the home page and no other pages, or sometimes all pages but the home page. I would start to get bothered after a few week.

Check for Duplicate content . If you are using wordpress the categories , tag or author page may be causing this .

It happened to me too. Keep adding content to it at least once a week.

If it's a manual action you'll get a message in GWT no matter when the account was created. Make sure you check under "Search Traffic" > "Manual Actions", I guess you know this, but some people think the message will show up in "Messages" section

It is almost 2 weeks now that my homepage got deindexed. Is that still a normal period for "deindexing dance" for new domains?

Google's site:, info: operators have been showing pretty weird results for sometime now. You may want to clear your cache, cookies etc and try again. Also, just wait it out and things should be just fine.

I am usually quite patient but 2 weeks seems long. I heard that this usually lasts 2-3 days!
